welcome to aatrox's general guilty gear shrine! ill give a brief introduction to the series, what i think of it, links to character specific shrines, and then other random bullcrap.

✚ about guilty gear ✚

guilty gear is a video game franchise centered around fighting games that follows the story (at least starting from a certain point) of sol badguy, famous for his fucking stupid name (its a freddie mercury reference). the plot is convoluted, but simply put, its about the world of guilty gear after the war against the gears, an artificial race made by humans that gained sentience and rebelled against its creators, and the effects that it had in its various characters. despite that, a lot of the characters have their own arcs, tying into each others, and overall its known for having a pretty big plot for a fighting game series (though it also has other stuff, not just fighting games). its considered a cult classic at this point, and despite starting from a kusoge (shitty games that are enjoyable for being shitty, but arent made to be shitty) thats got no online play and also is very painful to go through, almost anyone whos into games knows about it even if they never actually got into the series. oh, also almost everything in it is an american rock/heavy metal reference, which is hilarious, because one of its characters is literally called 'eddie', and i will never get fucking over it, ever.

✚ why do i like guilty gear? ✚

ill be honest, i also dont know how exactly i managed to get into the series despite only NOW actually playing the games (and im very, VERY bad at fighting games). its probably a result of the game being in my life since i was very young on the internet (people who started in 2009 represent), and strive giving the franchise a huge boom in popularity. oh, also i think zato's strive design is very very gender. i want to look like that.

my history with guilty gear is very funny, and something that ill get more into once i get around to the proper character shrine (yes, im serious) but basically, if you are brazillian, used the internet before 2014, and liked YTPs, its a good chance were on the same boat. its similar to doom in that its been in my life for longer than it HASNT been in my life but it took me a damn long time to get into. i dont regret it, though. guilty gear is amazing, i love the fan community that surrounds it (including the old fandom from early internet days), its characters are a lot of fun and overall its a great franchise. probably not for everyone, which is fair, but even if you suck at fighting games like me, you should give it a try at least for the pure insanity that its characters and story are.

okay so, on second thought, i have so many gg gifs that it would make this page lag to death. so as much as i wish i could keep it all in one neat page, im going to make a second gg shrine JUST for the sprites, because theres an overabundance of them in my cool stuff folder, and probably even more in other folders i havent been bothered to look. BE WARNED: THE SPRITES PAGE WILL BE VERY GIF HEAVY. IF YOUR COMPUTER CANT HANDLE IT, YOU SHOULD SKIP THIS PART. sorry, but i love all these gifs too much to let them go unnoticed. i also took them from multiple sources, so i cant give credit to all of them, but most-if-not-all of the xrd/strive gifs are from arundolyn on tumblr, and some of the X-series sprites are from fighters generation.
